QB Shuffle

The Bucs have 12 picks in this year’s draft. They have two in the third, two fifth and two sixth round. With all the talk about what quarterback is going where the Bucs jumped in and decided their interest in Alex Smith has defiantly gone up.

With all those extra picks don’t be surprised if the Bucs trade away some for a veteran quarterback. For example; Tim Ratty from the Niners would be a start. It just wouldn’t make any sense to spend this much time around a QB when Greise was signed to a long term contract and Simms is still a young ‘buck’.

The Return

When DT Anthony McFarland went down last season it was Ellis Wyms, Greg Spires and Dewayne White that filled the void that McFarland left. It is funny because McFarland can man the tackle position very well but might be better at a Nose Tackle position.

The team does expect McFarland to participate in the off-season workout program and is supposed to make a complete recovery in time for the mini-camp camps in July.

More than likely he will to spend the better half of the summer getting back in to tip top football condition and that means a lot of strength building in his upper body. Since his position will require a lot of upper body strength.
