Getting Offensive

Paul Hackett will do a lot more for the Bucs than coach their quarterbacks. The former Jets offensive coordinator will also assist Coach Jon Gruden with the development of his game plan and he will likely have a hand in calling the offensive plays. Gruden likes to surround himself with experienced offensive-minded coaches, and he considers Hackett one of the best. Gruden is hoping Hackett's knowledge of the West Coast system will allow the Bucs to develop a more potent attack that is well disguised. . . .

The Hard Truth

Since the break out success of Willis McGahee, Travis Henry was giving permission from the Bills to seek a trade.

This got the attention of several teams such as the Panthers, Dolphins, Raiders, Cardinals, and of course the beloved Bucs. Job Gruden is fond of veteran players and feels he has the best chance to bring Henry to Tampa.

With Alstott fading out of the picture, and Pittman being fumble prone, Henry seems to be best suited for Tampa. O yeah, there is also Charlie Garner but he always gets hurt…

So the only viable option here is Henry to compete for the starting job against Pittman. To be honest, Henry would win the position, simply because he is more off a featured back as to where Pittman could have potential as a great 3rd down back.
